Sint Pannekoek
On November 29, 2017, the Maatvast Foundation and CrossPoint organize a Saint Pancake party in Getsewoud! Eating pancakes together and supporting a good cause.
It is a made-up party, coming from a comic strip of the in the Netherlands legendary Jan, Jans and the Children. Because Catootje likes pancakes, grandpa states that it is an old tradition to eat this dish on November 29th. It is ‘Sint Pannekoek’. The whole family awaits the mother of the house with a pancake on the head.
They are looking for volunteers to make pancakes at home to take along to the event and eat together- kids very much welcome. They pay for the ingredients but desperately need volunteers to do the baking and bring the pancakes along. If you would like to be involved, send us an e-mail to info@expatsHaarlemmermeer.com with subject line ‘I bake pakcakes for a good cause’. We will forward that to the coordinator to get in contact and arrange delivery of the ingredients etc.
Our expatsHaarlemmermeer reader Samantha Forcey will go along with her kids for about an hour around 5.30. It would be great if anyone would like to help and join her.
Everyone can visit the Buurthuis Het Contact (Sandestein 42) on Wednesday, November 29, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The party is free. You can of course give a gift for a good cause: We support Kidsfair together.
