Keukenhof is the most beautiful spring garden in the world. More than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with color and fragrance, for eight weeks long. The keukenhof will be opened from the 22nd of March until the 13th of May 2018 between 8.00 and 19.30.
Located in Lisse in the Netherlands, in the South Holland province, next to Haarlemmermeer, Keukenhof is the world’s largest flower garden. Its name translates to “Kitchen Garden” in English and is also known as the Garden of Europe.
What to Expect
This spectacular showcase of 7 million tulips, daffodil and hyacinths is truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Throughout Keukenhof, visitors will find a wide range of different gardens and styles. The English garden features charming winding paths, while the Historical Garden is enclosed and features a variety of different bulbs. Many areas of the park also include water gardens, fountains and ponds.
Keukenhof Romance
In 2018, Keukenhof’s theme will be Romance in Flowers. The most beautiful spring park in the world with its sea of flowers will put you in a romantic, spring mood.
The historic park was designed midway through the Romantic period (1857) as an ornamental garden for Castle [Kasteel] Keukenhof. Since 1950, millions of tulips have flowered in the gardens around the pond with its gorgeous sights and centuries-old beech trees.
The flower shows will also have romance as their theme. The rose show will be bigger than ever: the red rose, the symbol of true love. In 2018, Keukenhof once again has a wonderful tulip mosaic planned featuring 50,000 bulbs.
Events at Keukenhof
The Keukenhof season will conclude with Romance at Keukenhof, a classical music festival that will take place amid the park’s tulips.
