Five international companies settled in Amstelveen last year. As a result, 53 new jobs were created. Two foreign companies that are already here, have increased the number of jobs by 35 in 2019.

This is evident from figures from the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (which Amstelveen is also a part of) and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency.

If you look at the entire Amsterdam region, 161 companies (mainly from the US) opened a branch in the metropolis last year. This is expected to result in 2853 new jobs over the next three years. Especially in business services and the IT sector. The majority of companies settled in the capital. 38 companies did this because of Brexit, but this is not the case for the companies that chose Amstelveen in 2019.
